The truly masterful mediator must be able to stand in the fire and be the calm, clear, patient presence that enables others to discover common ground and to heal. In this full-day, hands-on seminar author and veteran facilitator of high-stakes meetings, Larry Dressler will share specific principles and practices that enable you to show up in the most challenging situations. During this day-long seminar you will learn:
- How to anticipate when you will be walking into a “high-heat” situation
- Common hot-buttons that weaken the effectiveness of mediators
- Six inner capacities you can build for standing in the fire of conflict and complexity
- Specific personal practices you can adopt to become a less reactive, more resilient mediator
Our presenter, Larry Dressler is the author of two books on conflict and collaboration. He is a private consultant and an Adjunct Faculty member at in the Masters Program for Dispute Resolution and Conflict Management. A dynamic presenter and master story teller, he has trained group process and conflict resolution professionals throughout the world, including in Japan, China, and the UK. Over the past 25 years Larry has consulted with Nike, Facebook, Nissan, New Belgium Brewing, One Percent for the Planet and many other companies striving to build more collaborative, transparent cultures. He is the recipient of the Global Facilitation Impact Award presented by the International Association of Facilitators.
